I remember it like it was yesterday. My friend T and I were playing golf on a local course and talking about day to day life. He asked me if I had a 401K or any investment accounts setup. I said no with embarrassment and tried to change the subject as quickly as possible. I was 37 and hadn’t really put much effort into investing money. Being a serial entrepreneur, my income has gone up and down several times. I never learned how to budget or manage money and it hit me hard.
At night, started studying by reading every blog I could about personal finance and FIRE. I read several books on saving, investing, and how to manage your money. Basically, I was obsessed with catching up on learning investing and personal finance. Because of this, I not only learned a ton, but I began to put my own family investment plan together. This blog will highlight our journey to financial freedom.
